Augmented Reality has officially hit TikTok!

After releasing AR Development tool ‘Effect House‘ to a selected number of creators in August 2021, TikTok has announced that they will now be making the platform available to all users on the platform!

‘Effect House’ is a program where content creators can go to design their own AR filters for use in their TikTok content. The program provides a heap of templates, tools and guides to get you started and to make the process as simple as possible.

All effects will be available for use by the entire TikTok community, giving you an incredibly powerful tool to make your creative content accessible to a huge audience organically, turbocharging your brand growth or personal following.

Effect House user @lauragouillon has been blown away by how quickly the program has helped her scale her reach and following; “In my first week using Effect House I’ve made 18 effects which have collectively reached over 100 million people worldwide, and I’ve grown my audience by over 20% to now over 240,000” via TikTok.

TikTok has also published a dedicated set of guidelines for Effect House that is geared towards encourage pure creativity as opposed to promoting colourism or negative stereotypes against protected groups or effects that depict cosmetic surgery or encourage scrutiny of someone’s appearance.

Effect House Beta is now available to all users, so it is time for you to get your creative juices flowing and consider how you can leverage this technology in your branded or personal marketing strategy.
