In 2013, co-founders Jonathon and Daniele, working in the consulting and advertising/media industries respectively, realised employers were struggling to find qualified social media resources.
As advertising budgets quickly transitioned away from traditional broadcast media (such as TV, print and radio) to social media networks, businesses required high-quality staff to allocate social media spend effectively, generate a high return on investment and help manage social communities. Despite a large number of social media ‘soft skill’ courses existing, employers found it very difficult to assess the quality of the training and whether the prospective employee was capable of developing and implementing a social media strategy.
The 10118NAT Diploma of Social Media Marketing is a government recognised training course with the Australia Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) – the only Australian Government nationally recognised training course in social media marketing, and first of its kind anywhere in the world.
