The 5 Top Social Media Tips for Social Media Posts

Crafting an effective social media post is comparable to creating that perfect chocolate cake your mum always made. You’ve seen it done a million times but can’t seem to get the results you yearn for. However, that is okay because unlike the cake, the perfect social media post has quite an easy recipe:

1. Create Relevant Content

Think: What will your followers like? What’s current? What message or current event aligns best with your brand? How can it be tied into something you care about?

2. Keep It Short

No one likes a post that reads like a short novel and never seems to get to the real point.

3. Create a Visual

Visuals are a crucial part of any social media post no matter what the platform—make sure you have an eye-catching one that goes along with it! Make sure it’s easy to read, well branded and uses bright colors—they’re more likely to get shared.

4. Engage With The Audience

This is ‘social’ media for a reason! End the post with a question or for the reader’s opinion on the matter.

5. Be Direct

Be clear about what you want the reader to do next as this will create the best results. Want them to read a more in-depth post about the event your discussing? Write, “Click here for more on____.” Want them to share the infographic you created to draw more traffic back to your page? Write, “Share this photo and help us spread the love”
